Ted Lasso, the coach of the Kansas City College soccer team, is an incorrigible optimist, everyone's favorite, and a YouTube star. The new owner of an out-of-the-way English soccer club decides to use him for her cunning plans and offers Ted the job of head coach, counting on him to destroy the club. With no knowledge of the sport, Ted takes up his new duties with all the enthusiasm inherent in him.
